Inside the Mind of a Football Fanatic

"English Premier league and all out war every weekend"-Graeme.R.Conyette

This just about sums up my thoughts on the most fascinating league in the world. Now on to the 26th season since its' inception, the English league(EPL) has grown in reach and status as players here earn way more than their Spanish and Italian counterparts.

My first interaction with football was like any other child's on the street, with either stones or our shoes as goal post. It quickly developed, especially when I witness the Yorke-Cole combination of the class of 99' Manchester United team, which included the likes of Beckham, Neville and Giggs.{ ps.I am by no way a supporter of Manchester United, I bleed blue ;-) } To put it simply, I'm just your average guy who supports Chelsea FC but pays close attention to everything EPL. From Sir Alex and his almost supernatural man management at Manchester United to Andre Villas Boas's inevitable demise while in the hotseat at Stamford Bridge. Football is a regular occurrence for me. I wake up, watch EPL review show and go to sleep watching highlights, I even considered a career in coaching, but then I realized my love for binge watching football videos wouldn't be as simple as it is now as I'm on the computer all day!

My goal is to share my perspective and eventually enlist the services of weird fanatics who shed light on football banter in different ways, be it through photos, video or text. Currently I work at a Advertising Agency in Trinidad and Tobago, (lovely place by the way, look it up) where I am a Social Media Coordinator. Yes, I get to be on Facebook and Instagram whole day and whole night. Try not to get jealous. Still going through this thing we call education hoping to attain my MBA (marketing) by August of this year. My life can be described as a fairly smooth road with some seriously deep potholes that have water in it so you can't determine the depth. You get the jist right?! Moving on back to football and inside the head of a Fanatic, I follow my local fan base called Blue Nation. I have my own facebook page where I upload some of the best football videos (goals, skills, saves) of the English Premier league both current and throwbacks.

One of my favourite come backs was when Liverpool bounced back to score on Schmeichel of Manchester United. This Season my favourite come back is when Bournemouth scored first courtesy Junior Stanislas but then ended up going down 4-1 to 2 sublime finishes from the much under-rated Son.

  3. Firstly, as the girlfriend of a fanatic, who's always on the outside looking in (don't worry I'm getting better), I found this to be both relatable, and enjoyable. I too remember the days of the slipper goal posts, even those when there were no slippers available, and some unlucky soul had to stand with their legs open. Secondly, I love Beckham. . .let's hear some more about him WOOP! WOOP! (just kidding)
