Chelsea owner right to be mad
Roman a hard task
master?
I’ve literally lost count the number of managerial changes at Stamford Bridge over the last couple of years. Since the inception of the Abramovich era we saw the high bar the owner set for the club and rightly so. Roman has pumped millions into the club with an expectant return on investment, in the form of trophies.
This often ruthless stance on manager’s tenure at the club has been well documented and shirked upon as most pundits agree that sacking the mangers doesn’t fix the boat. Some may lament it can stabilize it as in the case of Andre Villas-Boas who had a horrid time in the Chelsea dugout, while the subsequent one Di Matteo helped bring the European silverware to the Bridge even though he found himself on the wrong end of Roman’s rope.
Key players look not to be up to scratch, Courtois can be held accountable for all three goals against Barcalona as well as the fading Cahill who has left a gaping whole not ready to be filled by Andreas Christensen. The young man though does have a place in the Chelsea squad come 2018/2019 as he has showed while he cannot shackle a Lionel Messi he is fully adapt at hassling premiership forwards week in week out.
Fabregas is a shadow of his former self with him no longer providing much needed support to the attackers this term. His supply has frankly dried up and one wonders if Kante wasn't present if Conte would have faced the exit door far sooner.
This dip in Chelsea’s season has meant they only won 5 games
of their last 17 fixtures. Track back to a touch of Samba, on July 1st,
2008 World-Cup winning coach Luiz Felipe Scolari form similarly dipped just as Conte’s own has. On the back of a 2-0 defeat to Liverpool and goalless draw at
Hull City, it signaled the end of the former. We are in April and he has gone on to lose high profile and low profile matches to a combination of Watford, Bournemouth, Manchester City, United and Spurs. Chelsea started the campaign on fire with Morata scoring six times in as many appearances. After the City loss he scored two goals in the same amount of matches hence his drop in scoring touch has coincided with Chelsea's drop mixed with Eden Hazard's lack of consistency.

Very insightful, you sure know your stuff
ReplyDeletei live football Sudesh !
ReplyDeleteAgreed ten fold bro.. Always wonder why so much blame are put on the managers when you see performance lacking from the players themselves...
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with Kiel. Players are lacking the legs to carry out Conte's vision. I rate Conte as one of the best mangers ever introduced to football.
ReplyDeleteI mean, look at the foundation he built for Juventus to become the champions they are today. I honestly think the squad needs to be recycled. We need new center-backs, more Lampard-like midfielders with personality to drive the squad forward when they step on the field.
I say keep Conte and recycle players!
I second that it is the players. They never give him the players he ask for smh
DeleteThey may very well have to recycle them. . . . .on to the next.
