Imagine if Sterling scored more of his chances
Raheem Sterling
Praise for Sterling
Sterling is having the most prolific season of his career. He is in a team that is this year's gold standard all because the manager demands improvement from every player. No one has answered those calls more than Raheem Sterling! He has vastly improved from his previous levels you could say. When you look at Silva and Aguero they have just changed their game a bit to suit the manager's tactics, while still remaining relevant. It is Sterling who no one thought would produce such commendable performances. He is scoring for fun with either his left or right foot, even the occasional header. His shooting technique is what has really changed. This has been credited due to hard work, and the combined effort of he and the manager reviewing tapes to improve his training.
Young players always have to be sponges, and when you are training with the likes of KDB , Sane, Jesus and veterans like Yaya Toure and Vincient Kompany, it doesn't hurt as they are great role models with a wealth of experience. A kid from a rough background needs to stay focused.
Over the weekend he created a hat-trick of assist, another personal record achieved. Even if West Ham is miserable at defending, it takes a calm yet focused approach to square the ball effectively under pressure. Everything he touches turns to gold guys!

Missed chances
For all the glory he holds, the miss of the season will also probably be heading to the Ethiad and to Sterling's locker as seen by his miss versus Burnley this season. In fact he was swiftly substituted and played one in three games following evidence of the high standard you have to maintain to start in Manchester City.
This season he also missed a hat-trick of opportunities versus Manchester United which would have won them the title in the Ethiad. If those chances and one or two more had been converted, we could be speaking of Raheem in a different light. He has been so good, and if not for Salah he might have gotten more credit. He has come a long way from the misfiring youngster back in Anfield and with Guardiloia 's instruction he has been impressive nearly every weekend.

Early days
- Born in Maverly Jamaica but moved to England where he was signed by QPR
- Played at all the youth levels for England.
- Was tipped to be great from young, moved to Liverpool a month before he turned 15.
- Had two children by the time he was 18 years.
- Left Anfield for Ethiad for 44million
- Underwhelming during his first two seasons at Manchester City, YES REMEMBER THAT !

Meh....never rated him high. He has tremendous speed but lacks that quality finish and critical decision making. A little bit overrated for me!
ReplyDeleteSeems like he's grown as a player, however there's always room for improvement. Two kids before 18. . . WoW. . .he's blessed to have reached so far. The personal profile was a nice touch.
