The Best Average and Worst January signing in 2018

BEST

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Borussia Dortmund)
56 million

He has scored 21 goals in 23 matches this season before moving on from Dortmund, altogether he scored 141 goals in 213 appearances for the club.

The Gabon born striker needs no introduction really, he has been around for some time and his signing was a much needed move with a misfiring attack all season long. Life started with a flurry of goals against a poor Everton side, who after the 90 minutes conceded 5 goals, one of which was Aubameyang's debut goal. Even though he blanked at Top 4 matches with Spurs and City , it is only his first season playing with a new team that really isn't an upgrade on his former teammates at Dortmund. He is poised to end the season on a high following up on his five strikes from five matches March.
Few can debate his has been a good signing. It's a pity he can't play for them in Europe this season and help out in the push for silverware to send Arsene home smiling. If anything things will probably go as they usually go for Arsenal with them finding some way to mess it all up. The new forward will do much to add movement and goals, but one wonders if he could elevate the team as a whole.

Average

Kennedy (Chelsea Loan)
21 year old Brazilian

Key features of his game include a cultured left foot that scored a brace against Southampton in March. I watched this game live and he made it look simple after two fast counter- attacking plays from Newcastle. He is an exciting young winger who will only get better with increased game time. It will be a pity if and when he returns to Chelsea, as it'll only be to sit on the bench and play reserve league games.

Another player with a positive contribution on his debut with an assist. That being said he was acquired to provide natural width which is a key feature of the manager's game plan. Everyone knows of Rafael Benetiz around England, so when you become a regular under him it's an achievement on its' own. Kennedy and Newcastle are probably never going to win the league nor get relegated. They lie somewhere in between just like Kennedy's season performance. His goals and assist have come in only two matches clearly when he makes an impact on a match he really drives it home, other than that he is very useful in the overall team plan Benetiz uses.

Worst

Lucas Moura (PSG) 25 years old Brazilian

With the arrival of Neymar and Mbappe, Lucas chances have virtually dried up. So it was no surprise when he made the January move behind fellow PSG teammate Aurier. The revival he has hoping for hasn't happened unfortunately. Brazilians usual don't settle into life in England as easily as one expects. So it's no surprise to see Moura take back up where he left off at PSG, which is the bench. Since his January move he has usually been used as a unused substitute or substitute. So even though he has been handed the worst signing award this year next year he could pop up and show us what he is capable of.

  1. Yeah I hope Chelsea doesn't make the same mistake like we've been doing for the past 10 years which is send off young talent to our rival clubs who then transforms into machines that terrorizes our defenses....sigh! I hope we keep Kenedy, Batshuayi, Piazon and Van Ginkel.
